Fertility Drugs

Well my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since January 2010. we got pregnant once in that time and i lost the baby. yesterday we went to see the doctor and he is putting us on fertility pills. the biggest concern was multiples we have one child can we really handle two more? emotionally: having one newborn and a toddler is going to be hard enough but having two newborns and a toddler. i don't know if i am sane enough to handle that. but i do know that i all we can do is do our best. thats pretty much anyone can do. its been so hard for us to have one it will be an absolute blessing to have two. especially if nothing goes wrong the entire time. Financially: we can defiantly have the financial capability to take care of two more babies although it will be difficult. the staying at home will have to end because i will probably have to get a job to make some extra money. we will just have to see how things play out before we actually start worrying about everything.

now for the drug that our doctor put us one. its called Clomiphene
after i start my period i take this pill for five days to help produce more of the hormones that trigger ovulation and telling my ovaries to produce a mature egg...sometimes more than one depending on your normal ovulation cycle.

the side effects... oh the side effects selling of the ovaries, stomach pain, breast tenderness, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, headaches, fatigue, irritability, depression, weight gain, and ovarian cysts. and those are just the minor side effects.
chance of conceiving twins is 10%. and sometimes triplets but it is less frequent. that means that 1 out of 10 people that  use this pill have twins!!!!!! wow. yeah i know but our doctor says in 30 years of doing this he hasn't had anyone have twins so thats good right. i think so.

the success rates: 80% of women ovulate within the first three months of taking these pills of those 80%, 40% of those actually get pregnant. hopefully i will be one of those 40%.

for the brand name Clomid the cost is at least $50.
for the off brand Clomiphene the cost is more around $20

well see how this fertility process goes in October.
