Potty Training

I think that kids who are ready to be potty trained will let you know. today me and my son were at the w.i.c office, the lady and i were talking about my miscarriage and my son walks up to the door and says momma caca (his dad taught him that) the w.i.c lady looks at me and tells me to take him i turn to her and say "oh he doesn't know how to use the potty very well yet. we have just been successful a handful of times" she nods and we continue our previous conversation a few minutes later she looks at me and says "i'm pretty sure he did caca" sure enough after he told me he did it. he knew it was coming and i didn't believe that he would actually know when he would do it. hes only 21 months old hes to young to be a big boy.

but time for the potty, right.
some may think so and i have heard lots of different opinions on when the right time is for your child to be potty trained. some say 2yrs some say 16months and others say 2.5yrs. i don't know what kind of parent i am but since my son was born i have gone with the flow. i fed him when he was hungry i changed him when it was time he napped when he wanted to. so no matter what he decides when hes ready to get potty trained he lets me know and i work off of his q's.

one article that i read that was my favorite one about potty training. follow these simple steps to help know when to potty train you child.
1. show them how its done, let him follow you into the bathroom and daddy too so he can see how you and daddy go potty.
2. when he notices that he is pooping or peeing start showing him his own potty.
3. don't try to make him potty every time he has to pee. only try to get him on the potty when he is gonna poop because its a lot easier to predict and pee is random.
4. his body know when hes ready and when he knows you will know too.
5. usually toddlers have control of their bowels at 2years old and some kids know will know and understand what his happening when they have a bowel movement earlier than that.

Each child is different and you cant compare your child to another child. i think that children are ready to be potty trained anywhere from 16months to 3 years old.
